In this wrongful death, vehicular collision case, plaintiffs the family members of two children killed when they were struck on a roadway, contend defendants, including two drivers, were at fault for racing each other.
One of the drivers, Rebecca Grossman, was previously convicted in criminal proceedings of second-degree murder and vehicular manslaughter for striking the children.
The defendant drivers each claim the other is responsible, while also contending poor lighting created a dangerous condition that led to the fatal collision.
For the plaintiffs, $198.17 million, which includes:
$176 million in compensatory damages
$21 million in punitive damages, imposed against Rebecca Grossman
$1.17 million in punitive damages, imposed against Scott Erickson.
